A Detroit native, Stanley C. Grandon, MD, known as Michigan’s EYE DEAN, is a board-certified ophthalmologist practicing in Dearborn, Michigan. He specializes in refractive surgery (the correction for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism) with Epi-LASEK and LASIK, cataract surgery and glaucoma surgery. Dr. Stanley Grandon strives to provide the highest quality, most up to date patient care.
He has taught courses on RK, LASIK, and Epi-LASEK, lectured at international medical meetings, trained other ophthalmologists in his surgical techniques, developed various instruments for refractive surgery, served as refractive surgery consultant to Kresge Eye Institute since 1993, and has had many articles published in leading ophthalmology journals. Dr. Stanley Grandon is one of the most experienced refractive surgeons in Michigan. Dr. Stanley Grandon has performed tens of thousands of refractive procedures, including Radial Keratotomy, LASIK and Epi-LASEK. Dr. Stanley Grandon has practiced ophthalmology at the Eye Surgery Institute in the Dearborn, Michigan community for over 30 years.
As one of the foremost cataract surgeons in Michigan, Dr. Stanley Grandon has been involved in a collaborative study of intraocular lens power calculation that has been published in a prestigious peer review journal.
In 1985, Dr. Stanley Grandon participated in a core study of folding lens implants and in 1988 he pioneered the no patch cataract procedure that is highly preferred by patients. Dr. Stanley Grandon has designed several of his own highly specialized instruments for use in cataract surgery.
Dr. Stanley Grandon is skilled at performing cataract extraction with intraocular lens implants following refractive surgery with great accuracy. Dr. Stanley Grandon has performed a large number of combined cataract and glaucoma procedures. This procedure can reduce or eliminate the need for glaucoma drops.
Dr. Stanley Grandon is a graduate of Wayne State Medical School in Detroit, Michigan. He served his residency in ophthalmology at the Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne State University. He is board certified by the American College of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has staff appointments at several Detroit-area hospitals including Oakwood-Dearborn in Dearborn, Michigan and Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Dr. Stanley Grandon is a founding member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and a founding member and past president of the Michigan Kerato-Refractive Society.
Dr. Alaina Kronenberg is a board certified comprehensive ophthalmologist. She specializes in cataract surgery, glaucoma, diabetic eye care, macular degeneration, dry eye disease, comprehensive eye examinations and pediatric eye care. Dr. Alaina Kronenberg strives to provide the highest quality of care and to take the time to listen to and address her patient’s concerns.
Dr. Alaina Kronenberg graduated with distinction from Wayne State University Medical School at the top of her medical school class, as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Dr. Alaina Kronenberg was the chief resident in her last year of ophthalmology residency at the Long Island Jewish Hospital in Queens, New York. Dr. Alaina Kronenberg has been practicing ophthalmology in Michigan since she completed her residency in 2004.
Dr. Alaina Kronenberg volunteered her time performing cataract surgery in India with a non profit health organization. She also participated in the Research to Prevent Blindness program. Dr. Alaina Kronenberg has been distinguished as one of “America’s Top Ophthalmologists.”
Dr. Kronenberg holds privileges at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center, Straith Hospital for Special Surgery , St. Mary’s Hospital in Livonia,Oakwood Hospital, and Beaumont Hospital.
Dr. Cindy Wang received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley. Her training includes rotations at American Lake VA Hospital in Washington and Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles. Dr. Cindy Wand has spent the majority of her career working alongside ophthalmologists practicing medical optometry.
Dr. Cindy Wang is a Michigan native and graduate of University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. Wang was happy to return to her home state and joined the staff at Eye Surgery Institute in Dearborn, Michigan in 2002. She enjoys family eye care, treating patients of all ages. Dr. Cindy Wang provides well vision exams, glasses examinations, contact lens examinations, low vision examinations and treats medical eye problems. Dr. Cindy Wang truly takes the time to get to know her patients and ensures that each patient receives the quality attention they deserve.
Dr. Wang also has special interests in innovative treatments such as Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) for non-surgical, overnight myopia correction and Synergeyes hybrid contact lenses. She is very experienced in specialty contact lens fits for keratoconus, post-RK, post-LASIK, and corneal ectasia. For those struggling with vision loss from conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetes, Dr. Wang provides low vision services.
As her patients already know, Dr. Wang dedicates her time away from the office to her husband and two young children. She is also an active supporter of Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) in hopes that someday there will be a cure for life threatening food allergies. She is a top fundraiser for FAAN’s annual Food Walk.
